WHITEWATER, Wis. – The Adrian College cornhole team traveled to UW-Whitewater over the weekend for another collegiate tournament, turning in another strong performance highlighted by Alex Weaver, who placed second in the Singles Bracket and third in the Doubles Bracket alongside partner Abigail Trepkowski.
In Singles Round Robin play, Weaver and Zachary Blaylock each went 3-0, while Ethan Freeman, Aidan Sicilia, Abigail Sawicki, and Jackson Newman all finished 2-1. In the Singles Bracket, Weaver won four straight matches before falling in the championship, earning second place overall with a 7-1 record. Blaylock, Sawicki, and Freeman each went 2-1 in bracket play.
In Doubles, Weaver and Trepkowski stumbled early, going 0-2 in the Round Robin. However, they bounced back with an impressive 3-1 run in the Doubles Bracket to secure third place. Other Bulldog duos of Newman/Sawicki, Freeman/Mason Foote, and Blaylock/Sicilia—each finished 1-1 in the Round Robin, while Carson Ashley competed without a partner and also went 1-1.
Adrian entered two squads in the Team Event, with both finishing 1-1. Across all divisions, the Bulldogs wrapped up the weekend with a combined record of 40-28.
The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday, October 25, when they travel to Rock Hill, South Carolina, to compete in a tournament hosted by Winthrop University.
