ADRIAN, Mich. — The Adrian College men's soccer team secured a 1-0 victory over Trine University on Tuesday night at Docking Stadium, extending their strong conference form.
After a scoreless first half marked by back-and-forth possession and key saves from goalkeeper Eli Sizemore, the Bulldogs broke through in the 74th minute. Senior forward Kyle Jennings found the back of the net for his fifth goal of the season, delivering what proved to be the game-winner.
Moments before the goal, Trine goalkeeper Dillon Lambert was issued a red card, forcing the Thunder to finish the match with ten men. Adrian capitalized quickly on the advantage when Jennings struck for the decisive tally.
Sizemore turned in a standout performance between the posts, stopping all five shots he faced to record his second shutout of the year.
Adrian was limited to three total shots in a defensive battle, but the Bulldogs' back line—anchored by Dominic Kretschmer, Nicholas Kiafoulis, and Simon Dawid—held firm to preserve the clean sheet.
With the win, Adrian improves to 5-10-1 overall and 3-1-1 in conference play, while Trine drops to 1-11-2 (0-3-1 conference).
The Bulldogs return to action this weekend for senior night against Hope Saturday for a 7:00pm kick off at Docking Stadium.
