ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Adrian College cornhole team returned to action on Saturday, traveling to Winthrop University for a collegiate tournament in South Carolina. The Bulldogs turned in a strong performance, placing third overall as a team and earning wins over the University of Tennessee and East Carolina University.
In Singles Round Robin play, Adrian was led by Zac Blaylock, Alex Weaver, and Aidan Sicilia, who each finished with a 3-1 record. After seeding, Weaver continued his impressive run, going 6-2 to finish fourth in the 42-player bracket. Blaylock also performed well, finishing 13th after posting a 2-2 record in bracket play.
In Doubles competition, Weaver and Abigail Trepkowski led the Bulldogs, going 1-0 in Round Robin play and 1-1 in bracket play to finish fourth overall. The Adrian team of Weaver, Trepkowski, Blaylock, and Abigail Sawicki combined for a third-place finish in the team event.
Across the entire tournament, the Bulldogs totaled 44 match wins among their ten throwers, marking another successful weekend of competition.
Adrian will be back in action on Saturday, November 1, when they travel to Detroit for their next ACL Regional event.
