TAYLOR, Mich. – The Adrian College cornhole team competed in an ACL Regional on Saturday. Once again, the Bulldogs had another successful weekend bringing home multiple placement finishes.
After four matches of round robin play, the Doubles Bracket was split into Tier 1 and Tier 2 brackets.
Aidan Sicilia led the Bulldogs in the Tier 1 bracket playing alone in the Doubles and placing fifth. In the Tier 2 bracket,
Alex Weaver and
Abigail Trepkowski put on a showing to go 5-0 in bracket play and place first.
The Singles brackets broke up into four tiers.
Zachary Blaylock grabbed a fifth-place finish in Tier 1 while
Jackson Newman placed fourth in Tier 2.
Aidan Sicilia shined again with a third-place finish in Their 3.
Carson Ashley and
Abigail Sawicki put on a showing in Tier 4. Sawicki defeated teammate Ashley in the opening round and made her way all the way to the Championship match. Ashley battled through the consolation bracket and won eight matches in a row to come back and face Sawicki and win. Ashley earned the first-place finish while Sawicki took second.
The Adrian College cornhole team will travel to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater on Saturday, October 11 for a road tournament.
