Football Wraps up 8-2 Season in Tight Road Loss to Alma

ALMA, Mich. – The Adrian College football team traveled to Alma College on Saturday afternoon for the final regular-season game of the 2025 campaign. The Bulldogs and Scots battled throughout, but Alma ultimately came out on top, 35–34. Adrian concludes the season with an 8–2 overall record and a 5–2 mark in MIAA play.

Alma jumped out to a 7–0 lead after the first quarter and added another touchdown early in the second to go ahead 14–0. Adrian responded when Noah Beaudrie connected with Ethan Abberger for a touchdown to put the Bulldogs on the board. Adrian then regained possession after an interception, which later set up a 3-yard touchdown run from Beaudrie to tie the game. The Bulldogs recovered the ensuing kickoff and capitalized once more before halftime, as Braiden Whitaker hauled in a pass in the back of the end zone to give Adrian a 21–14 lead.

The Bulldogs received the ball to open the second half, and Beaudrie wasted no time, finding Abberger for a 70-yard touchdown strike to extend the advantage to 28–14. Alma answered to make it 28–21, but Beaudrie delivered another touchdown to stretch the lead to 34–21. The fourth quarter, however, belonged to Alma, as the Scots scored a pair of touchdowns to rally for the 35–34 victory.

Beaudrie finished the day 30-of-44 passing for 374 yards and three touchdowns. Trey Brueggemann led the Bulldogs on the ground with 35 rushing yards on 11 attempts. Abberger posted a standout performance with 241 receiving yards on 13 catches. Defensively, Liam Karry paced Adrian with 14 total tackles, followed by 11 from Andrew VanDyke and 10 from Ethan Burrows. Burrows and Tim Simons each recorded an interception.

Adrian broke several single-season records during the game, including most passing yards in a season by Beaudrie, most team passing yards in a season, and most rushing touchdowns in a season.

The Bulldogs reached the eight-win mark for the first time since 2014. Head coach Joe Palka now holds a 14–6 career record at Adrian across two seasons. The Bulldogs will look to build on their recent success in the Palka Era when they return in the fall of 2026 for more Adrian College football.
