LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Adrian College Cross Country team wrapped up their 2025 season with a trip to Louisville, Kentucky for the NCAA Regional Championships, hosted by Spalding University. The Bulldogs put together a gritty effort on the regional stage, with the men's team finishing 23rd and the women placing 31st overall.
The men kicked off the day with a standout performance from Will Houvener, who continued his impressive season by placing 30th in the region with a time of 25:51.48. He was followed by Chase Nyack, who crossed in 115th at 27:06.00. Ryan Morris (27:46.60, 155th) and Gavin Shelton (27:58.75, 170th) kept the Bulldogs moving, while Eric Ramsey added a 178th-place finish in 28:11.06. Joshua Sharp-Pelto came through shortly after in 183rd with a time of 28:21.64, and Beau Shaffer rounded out Adrian's scoring with a 185th-place finish in 28:22.92.
On the women's side, Bridget Waterstardt paced the Bulldogs with a strong showing, placing 107th in 24:33.71. Lily Etelmaki followed in 159th (25:38.95), with Emma Frost close behind in 188th after clocking a 26:11.98. Olivia Hyatt (197th, 26:28.48) and Isabell Peltier (198th, 26:29.18) finished within a second of each other, while Ava Arnes added a 221st-place finish in 27:30.66. Alayna Paeth closed out the Bulldogs' efforts with a 226th-place time of 27:42.08, sealing the team's 31st-place finish.
With the meet marking the end of the cross country season, the Bulldogs can look back on a fall filled with growth and strong individual performances. Highlighting the year, Will Houvener earned First Team All-MIAA honors and now shifts his focus toward carrying that momentum into the upcoming indoor track and field season.
