APPLETON, Wis. – The Adrian College NCAA women's hockey team opened its two-game NCHA conference series at Lawrence University with a dominant 7-0 victory on Friday night.
The Bulldogs set the tone early, jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the first period. Courtney Ben opened the scoring midway through the frame on the power play, followed by tallies from Ava Mattaliano and Sophia LaColla. Adrian continued to roll in the second period, as Riley Johnson struck early and Ben added her second of the night late in the frame to extend the lead to 5-0.
In the third period, Paige Pomerleau pushed the advantage further before LaColla netted her second goal just 42 seconds later on the power play, sealing the 7-0 win.
Ben finished with a three-point effort, adding an assist to her pair of goals, while Emma Simon contributed a game-high three assists. All three Adrian goaltenders saw action, with Kiera Stack stopping nine shots over 43 minutes. Erin Judge played just under eight minutes, and Vanessa Ruban logged just over nine. Adrian outshot Lawrence by a commanding 49-10 margin.
The Bulldogs and Vikings will wrap up the series tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 PM ET.
