ADRIAN, Mich. – The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) has announced its Three Stars of the Week for both men's and women's hockey, with two Adrian College athletes earning recognition. Riley Johnson of the NCAA women's hockey team and Ian Amsbaugh of the NCAA men's hockey team were each honored for their standout performances.
Johnson, a senior from Farmington, Michigan, delivered an exceptional weekend to help the Bulldogs sweep Lawrence on the road. She scored a goal in Friday night's opener before erupting for five points on Saturday, finishing the series with four goals and an assist in an 8–1 victory.
Amsbaugh, a junior from Bottineau, North Dakota, also played a pivotal role in guiding the Bulldogs to a weekend sweep of Lawrence University. He tallied four assists in Friday's 8–1 win and followed up with a goal and an assist in the series finale, giving him six points on the weekend.
This marks the fourth time this season that a member of the men's team has been selected for the NCHA Three Stars of the Week, matching the women's team's total of four honorees.
Both teams are idle this weekend and will return to NCHA action December 5–6 against the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
