ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College NCSA Division I softball team hosted Central Michigan University over the weekend and delivered a dominant performance, sweeping the three-game series.
In the opener, the Bulldogs' bats came alive as they exploded for 15 runs on 16 hits in a thrilling 15-13 victory. Hayden Cutler led the charge with an outstanding 4-for-5 performance, driving in three runs and scoring three times. Greer Simpson went 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored, while Maya Uy added a 3-for-4 effort with one RBI and three runs scored.
Adrian carried that momentum into Game Two, continuing their offensive surge in a 16-10 win. Michelle Huffman fueled the offense with a 3-for-4 day, crossing the plate four times. Gianna Evans matched her with a 3-for-4 outing, driving in four runs and scoring three, while Sara Kozel went 2-for-3 with four RBIs and two runs scored.
The Bulldogs closed out the series in dominant fashion, taking Game Three 13-5 to complete the sweep. Cutler stayed hot at the plate, going 2-for-2 with three RBIs and a run scored. Courtney Robertson contributed a strong 1-for-2 performance with two RBIs and three runs scored.
This marks the first time in program history that Adrian College has swept Central Michigan University.
