FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The Adrian College NCAA men's hockey team wrapped up its road series with Marian University on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs picked up where they left off an took it to the Sabres winning 8-1 to complete the sweep. The Bulldogs move to 4-0 on the season and 2-0 in NCHA play.
In the first period,
Ian Amsbaugh struck on the power play to give Adrian a 1-0 lead. With under a minute to go in the period,
Alec Lovisek extended the lead to 2-0. Marian got on the board early in the second period to make it 2-1.
Ryder Nienhuis and
Patrick Saini scored back-to-back goals in under a minute before
David Clarke scored at the end of the period to lead 5-1 entering the third. In the third period,
Lucas Deeb,
Theo Thrun, and
Bradley Somers all scored goals within a minute and 21 seconds of each other to win 8-1.
Lovisek had a four-point night adding three assists to his goal while
Nathaniel Bannister and
Ben Loreto each tallied two assists.
Nolan Suggs got the start in goal for the Bulldogs where he finished the game with 20 saves.
Adrian returns to action on the road on November 14-15 when they travel to Aurora University. Friday's game is scheduled for 8:00 PM ET followed by Saturday's contest at 5:00 PM ET.
