ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College women's wrestling team hosted the Adrian College Invite today. The Bulldogs claimed 19th out of 40 teams with three top-ten finishes.
Sophomore
Mia Gaetjens took third place in the 180 pound class, starting her day off with three victories by fall, one by decision, and two more by fall. Graduate students
Carleigh Czerneski and
Taylor Cutler took six place in their weight classes. Czerneski in the 117 pound class, started off with tough matches falling in her first three matches. In her last three matches she won two by decision and one by fall. While Cutler in 145 pounds, had a rough start as well, losing by tech fall and two by fall before winning her last two matches by fall and tech fall.
"This is one of the hardest tournaments in the country with over 500 wrestlers in this tournament so this is very impressive that we had anybody place. As well as all three of them were in the A bracket which means it was the more advanced bracket." claimed Head Coach Autumn Rux. "Over 10 at the top 20 teams were at our tournament, making this a lot like a preseason national."
The Bulldogs will be back in action Sunday, November 23rd as they hit the road to East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania for the East Stroudsburg Duals.
