ST. PETERS, Minn. – The Adrian College NCAA women's hockey team wrapped up its Minnesota road trip on Saturday afternoon with a bounce-back performance. After falling in game one to No. 8 Gustavus Adolphus on Friday night, the Bulldogs responded with a 2–0 victory in the series finale.
Adrian broke the scoreless tie late in the first period when Emma Simon connected with Paige Pomerleau, giving the Bulldogs a 1–0 lead. The second period remained scoreless before Adrian sealed the win late in the third. With Gustavus pulling its goaltender, Riley Johnson found Julia Richardson for an empty-net goal to make it 2–0.
Kiera Stack earned the win in net, turning aside all 32 shots she faced to record the shutout.
The Bulldogs will take a break for the holidays before returning to action on New Year's Eve, hosting Trine University in a non-conference matchup at Arrington Ice Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
