GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Adrian College men's volleyball team wrapped up their weekend at the Calvin Quad on a competitive note, facing off against St. Norbert College. The Bulldogs battled hard, forcing the match to five sets, but ultimately fell 3-2.
Adrian came out strong, claiming the first set 25-19. The Bulldogs showed impressive attacking, totaling 11 kills with just two errors, posting a hitting percentage of .429. However, St. Norbert responded by winning the next two sets, 25-18 and 25-19. Not to be outdone, Adrian fought back in the fourth set, securing a 28-26 win behind a .379 hitting percentage, 15 kills, and only four errors. In a dramatic fifth set, St. Norbert edged out the Bulldogs 16-14 to claim the victory.
Beck Fieldhouse led the Bulldogs offensively, recording 15 kills, while Zach Molnar contributed 13. Fieldhouse also paced the team defensively with nine digs. Andrew Graczyk added eight digs and registered 43 assists for Adrian. Nathan Webster had a standout performance at the net, tallying one solo block and five block assists, while Fieldhouse also led with three aces.
The Bulldogs will return to action at home on Friday, February 21, when they host the University of Mount Union at 7:00 PM to kick off the MCVL conference season.
