ADA, Ohio – The Adrian College women's lacrosse team faced off against Ohio Northern on the road Friday night. It was a back-and-forth battle between the Bulldogs and the Polar Bears through three quarters, but Adrian ran out of steam in the fourth, falling 12-9.
Mariana Miller gave the Bulldogs an early lead in the first quarter with the team's first goal, and Madeline Turcotte followed suit, scoring a pair of goals. Adrian led 6-2 heading into the second quarter. Turcotte added two more goals in the second, but Ohio Northern answered with four goals, edging ahead to take an 8-6 lead at the break.
The Polar Bears tied the game in the third quarter, with Turcotte scoring the only goal for the Bulldogs. Ohio Northern dominated the fourth quarter, netting three goals to seal the 12-9 victory.
Turcotte finished the game with five goals for Adrian, while Miller contributed four. Cailey White recorded two assists, and both Turcotte and Kacie Woodall each added one assist. Bella Norton made 12 saves in goal for the Bulldogs.
Adrian returns to action on Monday, March 3, when they travel to Anderson University for a 6:00 PM contest.
