ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College Women's ACHA Division 2 hockey team split its weekend series with CCWHA foe, Lawrence Tech, losing game one, 3-1, and shutting out the Blue Devils, 5-0, in game two.
Adrian hit the road to Farmington Hills on Saturday but struggled to find the offensive stride they were looking for. The Blue Devils held the Bulldogs to only one goal, scored by
Morgan McKeraghan, and managed to squeak three by Adrian tender,
Emily Tracht. Throughout the loss, the Bulldogs out-shot the Blue Devils by a 33-28 tally.
After a game the Bulldogs wished they could have back, they hit the ice at the Arrington Ice Arena on Sunday afternoon, in hopes of at least splitting the important conference series. A commanding one-sided performance witnessed the Bulldogs tack on five goals in a shutout win, with goaltender,
Jordan Hunt, stopping all 28 shots she faced, earning her 7th shutout of the season and her 5th in a row.
Madison Grimm notched two goals of her own, while McKeraghan,
Hannah Berenson, and
Bria Hirschman rounded out the attack.
With the split, the WD2 Bulldogs move to 4-3 in CCWHA conference play and 10-10-2 overall on the season. The team returns to action at the Arrington Ice Arena next weekend against the University of Illinois in a lone CCWHA contest on Sunday, February 9 at 4:00 PM.
