GENEVA, Ill. – The Adrian College NCAA men's hockey team made history on Saturday night, traveling to Aurora University for the NCHA Harris Cup Semifinals. This marked the Bulldogs' first-ever road appearance in the Harris Cup Semifinals. Adrian came out on top with a 2-0 victory, securing a spot in the Harris Cup Finals.
The first period ended in a scoreless tie, with Aurora outshooting Adrian 12-10. However, in the second period, Julien Jacob broke the deadlock, giving the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead heading into the final frame. In the third period, Adrian maintained its advantage, forcing Aurora to call a timeout with 2:05 remaining in regulation. With 1:36 left, Aurora pulled their goaltender in an attempt to generate offense, but the strategy backfired. Ryan Pitoscia sealed the win with an empty-net goal.
Adrian's Dershahn Stewart earned the shutout in goal, recording an impressive 34 saves.
Next weekend, the Bulldogs will head to Wisconsin to face St. Norbert College in the Harris Cup Finals.
