SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The Adrian College baseball team traveled to Wittenberg University on Saturday for an afternoon doubleheader to conclude their series. Wittenberg took the opening game of the day 12-4, but Adrian's offense exploded in the second game, leading the Bulldogs to a 19-14 victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 1

Adrian took an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Scoop Harden drove in a run with an RBI double, followed by Billy Bourk reaching on an error to score another run. Casey Finn then singled in a run to cap the early rally.

Wittenberg responded with two runs in the second inning before tying the game in the fifth. They later took an 8-3 lead in the sixth.

Finn added another RBI for Adrian in the seventh with a single to left field, making it 8-4. However, Wittenberg answered with three runs in the seventh and one more in the eighth to secure a 12-4 win.

Finn and Andrew Clouse each recorded two hits for Adrian.

Landon Kozlowski started for Adrian, tossing 4.1 innings while allowing two runs on five hits.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 2

Adrian's offense came alive in game two, jumping out to a commanding 10-0 lead. Easton Rogers drove in a run in the first inning, followed by a 2-RBI single from Jake Burns to give the Bulldogs a 2-0 advantage.

In the second inning, Nic Bruder launched a grand slam, followed by a 2-RBI double from Burns and a sacrifice fly from Joe Casale to extend Adrian's lead.

Wittenberg responded in the bottom of the second, but Bruder struck again with his second home run of the game in the third inning. Wittenberg hit a home run of their own in the bottom of the third, but Burns answered with a solo shot in the fourth.

After another Wittenberg home run, Jack Boike and Rolando Jimenez each hit solo shots in the fifth inning, going back-to-back.

Wittenberg mounted a comeback, closing the gap to 14-12 in favor of Adrian. Boike then drove in another run with an RBI double, increasing the lead to three.

In the sixth inning, Wittenberg made it a one-run game, but the Bulldogs pulled away late. Rogers drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the seventh, followed by RBIs from Ryan Davis and David Kedrow in the eighth. Linken Hayward added a sac fly in the ninth to seal the 19-14 victory.

Bruder led the team with five hits and five RBIs in the game. Boike, Burns, and Kedrow each tallied three hits.

Ambrose Horwath started on the mound for Adrian, throwing three innings and allowing seven runs on seven hits. Parker Faris, Broc Shoemaker, and Ryan Davis provided relief.
