ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College baseball team hosted the University of Mount Union on Wednesday afternoon in their final non-conference game of the season. The Bulldogs were defeated 6-3, bringing their overall record to 8-10 as they prepare to begin MIAA conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED

Mount Union took the early lead in the top of the third inning with an RBI single, making it 1-0.

Adrian quickly answered in the bottom of the third. Nic Bruder hit a 2-RBI single to center field, giving the Bulldogs a 2-1 advantage.

The game took a turn in the fifth inning when Mount Union loaded the bases, resulting in a five-run inning that gave them a 6-2 lead.

In the bottom of the sixth, Joe Casale singled in a run for Adrian, narrowing the gap to 6-3, which would stand as the final score.

Jake Burns led Adrian offensively with two hits, a walk, and a run scored.

Adrian used a pitching-by-committee approach, sending seven pitchers to the mound throughout the game. Logan Hunt took the loss, allowing five runs on five hits in one inning of work.
UP NEXT The Bulldogs will open MIAA conference play tomorrow, Thursday, March 27, at 4:00 PM on the road against Alma College. Adrian will return home for a doubleheader on Saturday, March 29, with Alma, starting at 1:00 PM.
