WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Adrian College women's rugby team hit the pitch for the 2025 National Collegiate Rugby Championship 7s Tournament in Washington, D.C. over the weekend.

The Bulldogs entered the tournament as one of sixteen teams in the Women's Premier Division, and competed in a total of four games over the two-day clash.

Beginning their Cup Bracket tournament quest with a tough match-up against the back-to-back defending and eventual National Champions of Brown University, the Bulldogs fell to the Bears, sending them into the Bowl bracket for a match with West Chester University.

The Bulldogs couldn't muster a win over the Golden Rams, therefore moving on to the Shield Bracket where they'd compete for 13th place. After a loss to Frostburg State, the Bulldogs closed their tournament and season action with a spirited battle against Norwich University, which resulted in a 22-15 loss to finish in 16th place.

Over the course of the four games, Adrian never quit, and left every they had on the field. Scoring tries over the weekend were Madison Williamson, Sophia Meszaros, and three from Jersey Wilson.

The Adrian College women's rugby team concludes their 2024-25 season, one that included an impressive second and third-place finish at two 7s tournaments over the spring semester. The Bulldogs will return to the pitch in the fall for the BIG-10 Rugby Conference season.
