OLIVET, Mich. – The Adrian College baseball team traveled to The University of Olivet on Saturday afternoon for the final game of their series. The Bulldogs and Comets split the doubleheader, with Olivet taking game one 2-0, before Adrian bounced back to win game two 15-2. With the Saturday split, Adrian claimed the series 2-1 and improved to 5-2 in MIAA play.
HOW IT HAPPENED - GAME ONE

The Bulldogs came out strong in the first inning, collecting three hits, but were unable to push a run across.

Both teams went quiet offensively until the bottom of the sixth, when Olivet scored two runs to take a 2-0 lead.

Adrian showed some late-game life in the eighth inning but left a runner stranded at third. In the ninth, they left two runners on base and fell short, losing 2-0.

Adrian finished with seven hits in game one, including two from Nic Bruder.

Ambrose Horwath pitched six solid innings for the Bulldogs, allowing two runs on seven hits and recording five strikeouts. Parker Faris pitched two scoreless innings of relief, giving up three hits and striking out three.
HOW IT HAPPENED - GAME TWO

Adrian quickly bounced back in game two, taking an early lead with a 2-RBI double from Easton Rogers.

The Bulldogs added to their advantage in the second inning with RBI singles from Jack Boike, Ryan Davis, and David Kedrow, making it 5-0.

In the fourth, Jake Burns hit a 2-RBI triple, followed by a run scored on an error, extending Adrian's lead to 8-0.

Olivet responded with a solo home run, but Adrian answered with three more runs in the seventh inning. Cam Oliver and Davis each had RBI singles, while Kedrow added a sacrifice fly.

Olivet managed to get one more run in the eighth, but Adrian finished strong, scoring four in the inning. Rolando Jimenez, Bruder, and Kedrow each had RBI singles, pushing the lead to 15-2.

Bruder, Burns, Jimenez, and Davis each finished with three hits, while Kedrow, Rogers, and Boike contributed two hits apiece.

Ryan Davis earned the win, pitching five innings and allowing just one run on two hits with eight strikeouts.

The Bulldogs will travel to Trine University on Wednesday, April 9, to face the Thunder in the second game of their MIAA series. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
