Adrian College Announces Statement on Prime Quarters after a Fire at the Facility on Saturday Night

BLISSFIELD, Mich. – Prime Quarters, home to the Adrian College equestrian team, experienced a fire on Saturday, April 5 around 8:00 PM. The fire lasted roughly 2.5 hours where there were no injuries reported to people or livestock. Fire Department crews were able to rescue all of the horses and pigs that were stored inside the barn.

"The Adrian College community is devasted by the loss of Prime Quarters," said Adrian College Athletic Director Craig Rainey. "We are grateful that the Prime Family, Adrian College equestrian team, and the livestock in the barn are safe. Adrian College would like to thank and commend the firefighters who responded and fought the fire. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone at Prime Quarters."

It is unknown how the fire started, and the local fire departments continue to investigate the situation. The fire was extinguished before it spread to a nearby house on the property.
