Baseball Breaks Records in 32-9 Rout of Albion to Clinch MIAA Championship Outright

ALBION, Mich. – The Adrian College baseball team opened its final series of the regular season in dominant fashion on Thursday, routing Albion College 32-9 to officially clinch the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) title outright. Entering the game with a three-game lead and three games remaining, the Bulldogs' explosive win secured sole possession of the MIAA Championship—marking the program's 16th conference title.

How It Happened

  • Albion struck first with a run in the bottom of the second, but Adrian responded in a big way with an 11-run third inning. Ryan Davis led the charge with five RBIs in the frame, driving in two on a single and three more with a home run. Easton Rogers added a two-RBI double, and Linken Hayward chipped in with an RBI single.

  • Albion answered with a rally of its own, scoring seven in the bottom of the third to cut Adrian's lead to 11-8.

  • The Bulldogs blew the game open in the fifth, posting 12 runs. Rogers doubled, Hayward homered, David Kedrow added another double, and the Britons' pitching staff issued five bases-loaded walks.

  • Albion scratched across one more run in the fifth, but Adrian poured on seven more in the sixth.

  • Rogers capped off the sixth with a grand slam. Jaxon McGuigan followed with a two-RBI single, and Davis added a sacrifice fly.

  • Adrian tacked on one final run in the seventh on an RBI groundout to seal the 32-9 victory.

Top Dawgs

  • Nic Bruder and Easton Rogers led the offense with three hits each. Rogers also drove in eight runs, followed by Davis with six and Hayward with five.

  • Bruder and Davis each scored five times.

  • The Bulldogs racked up 18 hits, 18 walks, and were hit by four pitches.

  • On the mound, Jaxon Clark started and went 2.2 innings. Sean Parker threw two innings in relief, allowing one run on one hit. Broc Shoemaker closed it out with 2.1 scoreless innings.

Records Broken

  • The Bulldogs' 32 runs set a new program record for most in a single game, breaking the previous mark of 28 set in 2022.

  • Adrian also broke the single-game records for RBIs (31, surpassing 26 from 2022) and walks (18, topping the 17 recorded in 2012).
  • The eight RBI day from Easton Rogers ties the program record for most in a single game previously set by Miccoy Drzewiecki in 2017.

The Bulldogs return home on Friday to conclude the regular season with a doubleheader against Albion at Nicolay Field. First pitch is set for 3:00 PM. Adrian will celebrate its senior Class of 2025 between games.
