KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Adrian College cornhole team traveled to the University of Tennessee over the weekend to compete in the largest college-only tournament in the nation. The Bulldogs were well-represented, with eight players competing in the Singles Brackets and four pairs in the Doubles Bracket.
The tournament began with round-robin play to determine seeding for bracket competition. Zach Blaylock went undefeated at 3-0 in round robin play and followed up with a 2-1 record in the bracket, finishing 9th overall out of 60 participants. Alex Weaver, Abigail Trepkowski, Ethan Freeman, and Aidan Sicilia each went 2-1 in round robin play and finished 1-1 in bracket play. Mason Foote ended the singles competition with a 2-3 overall record.
In Doubles, the pairing of Weaver and Trepkowski led the Bulldogs with a fifth-place finish. The duo went 2-0 in round robin play and 2-1 in the bracket.
Due to time constraints, the tournament's scheduled team event was canceled.
Overall, Weaver and Trepkowski finished the day with a combined 7-3 record, while Blaylock posted a strong 6-4 performance to help lead Adrian.
