ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College women's soccer team earned a 1-0 victory over Otterbein University on Saturday, improving to 3-1 early in the season.
The Bulldogs continued their six-game home-stand to start the season, as they welcomed the Cardinals of Otterbein University to Docking Stadium on Saturday evening for game No. 4 of the season.
Ashley Hughes opened the scoring for Adrian midway through the first half of the contest, converting a beautiful right foot kick into the top right corner of the Otterbein goal, off a great pass from
Delaney Batur, who continues to rack up the assists. The Bulldogs and Cardinals entered the second half with the home team up 1-0.
Adrian and Otterbein continued to chomp at the bit in the second half, but neither team was able to convert into the opposing goal, leaving the home Bulldogs with a 1-0 victory.
Annamarie Fosmoen led the charge offensively with 6 shot attempts, 5 of them on goal.
Katelyn Stanton made 4 saves for the Bulldogs to earn the victory in between the pipes as the Bulldogs defeated the Cardinals in the shots on goal category, by an 8-4Â margin.
The Adrian College women's soccer team will host Madonna University at Docking Stadium on Tuesday, September 9 for their next match. Kick-off goes at 4:00 PM.
