DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Adrian College NCAA men's hockey team wrapped up its series against the University of Dubuque on Saturday afternoon, completing a series sweep with a 5-1 victory.
After a slow start to the game, the Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead late in the first period on a power-play goal from Bradley Somers. Dubuque answered in the second period with a power-play goal of its own, but Jack O'Hanisin regained the lead for Adrian with a goal to make it 2-1 heading into the second intermission.
The Bulldogs pulled away in the third period, scoring three times. Patrick Saini opened the scoring in the period, followed by an empty-net goal from David Clarke and a late tally by Alec Lovisek to seal the win.
Ryan Piros made 14 saves in goal for Adrian. Ian Amsbaugh recorded three assists, while Clarke added two assists to go along with his goal.
The Bulldogs return to action on January 30–31, traveling to St. Norbert College for a top-10 matchup. Friday night's contest is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. ET.
