FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Adrian College women's wrestling team competed at the Warrior Women's Open, where multiple Bulldogs turned in strong performances and several captured first-place finishes.
At 103 pounds, Alexis Baumgartner placed eighth after posting a 2–3 record on the day, earning victories by tech fall and pin. Angelica Steffy also finished eighth in the 138-pound weight class, compiling a 4–3 record with two wins by tech fall and two by pin.
Xsaria Puente placed sixth at 145 pounds with a 2–3 record, collecting wins by tech fall and decision. Sophia Renteria secured a fifth-place finish in the 124-pound division, going 4–2 with all four victories coming by tech fall. Jayna McClory also placed fifth, earning a decision victory on her way to a 1–3 record. Raven Aldridge earned a runner-up finish in the open division, posting a 2–1 record with wins by pin and decision.
Elaina Rudolph claimed second place in the 138-pound division with a 3–1 record, earning victories by pin, forfeit, and decision. Taylor Cutler captured a first-place finish, going a perfect 3–0 with wins by tech fall, pin, and forfeit. Carleigh Czerneski also took the top spot, dominating the 117-pound weight class with a 4–0 record that included a tech fall, two pins, and a decision.
Up Next: The Bulldogs are back in action on Friday, January 30 where they will travel to Tiffin University for a dual. The dual is scheduled to start at 6:00 PM
