NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- The Adrian College WD2 hockey team traveled down to University of Notre Dame Saturday evening with a dominating 11-1 victory lead by senior
Hannah Berenson and sophomore Gabi Paff with hat-tricks. While Paff recorded a six point night.
Just a little over two minutes into the game Paff netted her first goal of the game with the assist from freshmen Jax Graham. Shortly after Berenson netted two of her goals back to back, while junior
Mia Nadeau and sophomore
Shelby Goodman added helpers on Berenson's second goal on the power-play. The fighting Irish attempted to fight back finding the back of the net at 13:17 of the first period, however that would be the only time they found the back of the net. Paff netted her second of the night with help from sophomore
Morgan McKeraghan to close out the first period with the 4-1 lead.
The Bulldogs found the back of the net three more times in the second period, including Berenson completing her hat-trick. Juniors
Ella Zebley and
Gabby Brumme added themselves goals, while junior
Lulu Weglarz, Paff (2), Graham, and McKeraghan added helpers. Adrian headed into the third period with the 7-1 lead.
Adrian closed out the game by adding four more goals to secure the dominating win over the Fighting Irish. Graham found the back of the net twice, while Paff completed her hat-trick, and Weglarz added a goal herself. Zebley, Paff, and Brumme added some assists on the scoresheet as well.
Meaningless of the score, Notre Dame took more shots on goal, 33-28. Sophomore goaltender
Chalee Ridenour recorded 32 saves on those 33 shots on goal.
The WD2 Bulldogs will be back in action Friday and Sunday for a two-game conference series against Lawrence Tech, on the road Friday for a 5:00 PM puck drop and Sunday at home for a 4:00 PM puck drop.
