TIFFIN, Ohio -- Adrian College women's wrestling earned a 30–20 victory over Tiffin University on Friday evening inside the Gillmor Student Center, picking up six match wins on the night to secure the dual win.
The Bulldogs got on the board early at 103 pounds as Alexis Baumgartner collected a forfeit to give Adrian an initial 5–0 lead. Tiffin responded at 110 pounds with a forfeit of its own to even the score. Adrian quickly regained momentum at 117 pounds when Carleigh Czerneski pinned Leah Pekar just 26 seconds into the match, putting the Bulldogs back in front.
After Tiffin claimed a fall at 124 pounds, Adrian answered again at 131 as Mason Harsch secured a quick pin over Sienna Sanborn in 42 seconds. The teams continued to trade points through the middle weights, with Tiffin earning falls at 138 and 160 pounds, while Adrian countered with a lightning-fast pin from Zionah Gardner at 145, ending her match in just 14 seconds.
Adrian closed the dual strong in the upper weights. Mia Gaetjens and Raven Aldridge each picked up forfeits at 180 and 207 pounds, sealing the Bulldogs 30–20 win to cap off the night.
The Adrian College women's wrestling team will be back in action Tuesday night as they celebrate their senior class against Albion at 7:00 PM.
