ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College NCAA women's hockey team completed a sweep of St. Norbert College on Saturday afternoon, improving to 17-4-0 on the season and remaining undefeated in NCHA play at 14-0-0. A three-goal second period powered the Bulldogs to a 5-1 victory over the Green Knights.
Riley Johnson opened the scoring with a power-play goal in the first period to give Adrian a 1-0 lead. In the second period, Parker Beyer extended the advantage to 2-0 before St. Norbert responded to cut the deficit to one. Anneliese Klein answered with a goal to restore the two-goal cushion, and Ava Mattaliano added another later in the period to send the Bulldogs into the third with a 4-1 lead.
Emma Simon provided insurance in the third period, sealing the 5-1 win for Adrian.
Beyer finished the afternoon with a goal and two assists, while Johnson and Simon each recorded a goal and an assist. In net, Kiera Stack earned the win with a strong performance, stopping 34 shots.
With the victory, the Bulldogs have officially clinched a spot in the NCHA Slaats Cup Playoffs with two conference series remaining. Adrian will travel next weekend for a top-15 matchup and a battle for the NCHA Regular Season Championship against Concordia Wisconsin. The series opens on Friday, February 6, at 8:00 p.m. ET.
