ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College women's volleyball team looked to bounce back this afternoon against Rochester Christian University.
Rochester Christian controlled the first set. The Warriors kept Adrian around after two attack errors made the score 6-5, with the Bulldogs trailing by one. A seven-point run helped Rochester Christian jump to a 19-8 lead. Adrian tried to answer, but the Warriors would respond right back and eventually take the first set advantage, 25-11.
Adrian was involved in a back-and-forth second set. Exchanging leads with the Warriors throughout the set, a Kaiya Denny service ace gave the Bulldogs an 18-17 lead. Rochester Christian answered with an 8-4 run that concluded with a service ace and a 25-22 win.
With their back against the wall, the Bulldogs led 6-5 in the third set. Two kills gave Rochester Christian the lead; they led the rest of the way. An Apryl Kruse gave Adrian some life late in the match, but it was too little too late. The Warriors won the third set 25-20, and swept the match 3-0.
