Men’s Lacrosse Falls to Ohio Northern, 14–8

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College men's lacrosse team dropped a 14–8 decision to Ohio Northern University on Wednesday afternoon at Sweebe Family Athletic Center.

Ohio Northern opened the contest with four unanswered goals in the first quarter before Adrian responded with back-to-back goals, one being man-up scores from Braeden McNamara and Trace Tidswell to cut the deficit to 4–2 after one. The Polar Bears scored once more to close out the first quarter. The Polar Bears continued to build momentum in the second quarter, outscoring the Bulldogs 3–0 to take an 8–2 lead into halftime.

Adrian showed resilience coming out of the break, tallying three goals in the third quarter. Tidswell and Alec Winegar each found the back of the net, while Mark Veldhof added a goal to keep the Bulldogs within reach. Despite the surge, Ohio Northern answered with timely goals to maintain control heading into the final period.

The Bulldogs added three more goals in the fourth quarter, including a late man-up tally from Winegar and a final-second strike from Austin Selvage, but Ohio Northern closed out the contest with three goals of its own to secure the win.

Tidswell, Veldhof, and Winegar each scored twice for Adrian, while Selvage added a goal and three assists to pace the offense. In goal, Josiah Karnehm recorded 19 saves on the afternoon, facing heavy pressure from the Ohio Northern attack.

The Bulldogs men's lacrosse team is now 0-2 overall and look to regather before they hit the road for the first time this season to The College of Wooster. Opening face-off set for 11:00 AM on Saturday.
