ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College women's basketball team closed out its home schedule for the 2025-26 season on Wednesday night with an 80-59 victory over The University of Olivet Comets.
The Bulldogs came out strong, taking a 20-13 lead after the first quarter and extending their advantage to 44-26 by halftime. Adrian shot 16-of-35 from the field in the opening half, including 7-of-17 from three-point range. Ashlyn Moorehead paced the Bulldogs with 11 first-half points, knocking down three triples. Aubrie Ickes added nine points, while Darby Lienerth controlled the glass with a team-high five rebounds in the half.
Adrian maintained its momentum in the second half, scoring 16 points in the third quarter and 20 in the fourth. The Bulldogs shot 13-of-29 from the field over the final two quarters and connected on 50 percent of their attempts from beyond the arc.
Ickes finished with a team-high 16 points to go along with eight rebounds. Sophia Bussell added 14 points, while Moorehead totaled 13 points and dished out five assists. Ava Schultz contributed eight rebounds in the win.
Prior to tip-off, Adrian honored its Senior Class of 2026: Rylee Troth, Jenna Tierman, Aubrie Ickes, Darby Lienerth, and Morgan Babb.
With the win, Adrian remains one game back of the final MIAA Tournament spot and will look to secure a postseason berth in its regular-season finale on Saturday, February 21, at Albion College. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
