ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College men's volleyball team earned a four-set victory over Spalding Golden Eagles on Friday night at the Merrillat Center, winning by set scores of 25-16, 23-25, 25-20, and 25-22.
Adrian came out strong in the opening set, hitting .184 and controlling the tempo to take a convincing 25-16 win. Spalding responded in the second, capitalizing on Bulldog errors to edge out a tight 25-23 decision and even the match at one set apiece.
The Bulldogs regained momentum in the third set behind an efficient offensive effort, hitting .296 while holding Spalding to just .091. Adrian carried that rhythm into the fourth, pulling away late to secure the 25-22 win and close out the match.
Adrian finished the night with advantages in kills (46-42), blocks (10-6), and assists (39-37), while posting a .192 team hitting percentage. Carson Bell led the Bulldogs at the net with 10 kills and added a match-high five blocks. Dominic Rees chipped in 10 kills, while Sam Landers and Bell each recorded nine. Andrew Graczyk directed the offense with 30 assists and added two blocks, while Rolen Maclin paced the back row with nine digs.
The Bulldogs men's volleyball squad now sits at a 4-7 overall record and 1-1 in conference. The Bulldogs are right back at it Saturday hosting Wabash for another conference matchup at 12:00 PM.
