WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Adrian College NCAA women's hockey team traveled to eastern Pennsylvania for the First Round of the NCAA Division III National Tournament on Saturday afternoon. The No. 11-seeded Bulldogs faced No. 6-seeded Wilkes University. Adrian's season came to an end following a 2-1 loss to the Colonels.
Wilkes scored the first goal of the game with under two minutes remaining in the opening period. The Colonels added another goal in the second period to take a 2-0 lead, prompting a Bulldog timeout. Adrian responded on the power play when Courtney Ben netted her 26th goal of the season to cut the deficit to one heading into the third period.
The third period remained scoreless late into the frame, forcing the Bulldogs to pull their goalie for the extra attacker. Adrian struggled to gain sustained control of the puck during the 6-on-5 advantage, ultimately falling 2-1 in the first-round matchup.
Emma Simon recorded an assist in the contest, while Kiera Stack made 27 saves in goal.
The Bulldogs finish the season with a 24-6 record and will return to action for the 2026-27 campaign.
