ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College men's volleyball team opened its final weekend of home competition on Friday night, hosting Wittenberg University in an MCVL matchup. The Bulldogs claimed the opening set, but ultimately fell in four sets, 25-23, 21-25, 15-25, and 21-25.
Adrian came out strong in the first set, totaling 12 kills with six errors for a .111 attack percentage, while holding Wittenberg to a .079 clip to secure the early advantage. The Tigers responded in the second set, recording 18 kills and hitting .325 to even the match despite 12 Bulldog kills.
The third set proved challenging for Adrian, as Wittenberg controlled the frame with a 16-7 advantage in kills. In the fourth set, the Bulldogs posted 10 kills but were unable to overcome Wittenberg's efficient attack, as the Tigers sealed the match with 12 kills on just four errors.
Sam Landers led Adrian with 15 kills and added 13 digs for a double-double, while Dominic Rees contributed 10 kills. Carson Bell paced the Bulldogs at the net with four blocks and added four service aces. Andrew Graczyk dished out a team-high 21 assists.
Adrian will close out its home schedule on Saturday morning, hosting Mount St. Joseph for Senior Day. First serve is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
