Baseball Sweeps Wabash to Improve Winning Streak to Five Games

LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Adrian College baseball team completed its series on the road with Wabash College. The No. 21 ranked Bulldogs won the series final on Sunday 6-2 to sweep the series. Adrian moves to 11-4 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Bulldogs jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first inning. Jack Boike drove in a run on an RBI double followed by an RBI single from Gabe Jones and an RBI double from Aiden Melvin.
  • Wabash got on the board in the third inning scoring a pair of runs on a single to left field.
  • Adrian struck again in the seventh on an RBI double by Rolando Jimenez before a sacrifice fly in the eighth by Christian Oliver, and a sacrifice fly in the ninth from Jaxon McGuigan to win 6-2.
TOP DAWGS
  • Adrian finished the game with eight hits including two from Boike and two from Jimenez.
  • Ambrose Horwath moves to 4-0 on the season after throwing five innings allowing two runs on three hits with four strikeouts. Lincoln Lipinsk and Landon Kozlowski each pitched two scoreless innings in relief.
UP NEXT
Adrian's win streak moves to five after the series sweep and will look to improve on Wednesday, March 25 when they host The College of Wooster at 4PM at Nicolay Field for the team's home opener.
