DETROIT, Mich. -- The Adrian College women's club volleyball team played in the Detroit Mercy Tournament Saturday, finishing the tournament 3-2-1 overall.
Adrian opened play against Washtenaw Community College in its first matchup, tying 1-1. The Bulldogs then faced Central Michigan University, where they fell in straight sets, 2–0, before sweeping three straight matches 2-0 to the host Detroit Mercy, one in bracket play. In their next bracket play game, Adrian fell 2-0 once more to Central Michigan to conclude their day.
Offensively, the Bulldogs were led by Ava Schultz with 31 kills, followed up by Olivia Grimpo with 23 kills. Lindsay Bergman led the team in assists with 67 within all six contest. Defensively, Jersey Patton racked up the back row with 45 digs on the day. In the front row, Grimpo made seven blocks, while Bergman closely followed with five blocks. From the service line, Patton delivered 11 service Aces, while Schultz finished with nine service aces.
Up Next: The Bulldogs are back in action on April 2-4 where they will head down to Kanas City, Missouri for the NCVF Nationals.
