CHERRY HILL, N.J. – The Adrian College men's and women's rowing teams competed at the Knecht Cup over the weekend in New Jersey. The Bulldogs had entries in the men's and women's singles races, along with the men's and women's doubles.
Competition began Saturday with preliminary heats, followed by championship races on Sunday. In the women's singles prelims, Gianna Morreale placed fourth with a time of 10:20.1 to advance to Sunday's finals. In the men's singles prelims, Joseph Salvatera finished third in 9:18.220 to earn a spot in the championship race.
During Sunday's finals, Morreale recorded a fourth-place finish with a time of 10:41.3, while Salvatera placed sixth in 10:01.06.
In the women's doubles race, Lily Koepfler and Samantha Ebendick finished fifth in the prelims with a time of 10:27.68 to qualify for the Women's Double Petite Final. The Bulldogs placed fifth in Sunday's final with a time of 11:36.94.
The men's doubles team of Salvatera and Carter Davis placed fourth in the prelims with a time of 8:39.7, but narrowly missed qualifying for Sunday's final.
Adrian returns to the water on Saturday, April 18, when the Bulldogs compete at the IRCI Races in Farmer City, Illinois.
