ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College NCAA baseball team completed the sweep over Albion College on Tuesday afternoon. The No. 23 ranked Bulldogs earned their 20
th win of the season with a seven-inning victory at 13-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Braxton Bermes started the scoring by drawing a bases loaded walk in the first inning before Gabe Jones hit a sacrifice fly in the second inning to lead 2-0.
- The Bulldogs pulled ahead 5-0 after a sacrifice fly in the third inning before a 2-run homer from Jack Boike.
- In the fourth inning, Jake Burns smacked a 3-run homer run followed by an RBI triple from Bermes and a sacrifice fly by Casey Finn to lead 10-0.
- Albion scored a run in the fifth inning on a solo home run, but the Bulldogs responded with an RBI single from Jones and the second home run of the day from Burns to lead 13-1.
- Adrian totaled 12 hits in the seven-inning victory with three coming from Nic Bruder. Burns and Bermes finished the day with two hits.
- Edward Bieniasz moved to 4-1 on the mound after tossing five innings allowing one run on two hits with a pair of strikeouts. Sean Parker pitched two scoreless innings allowing one hit.
