ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College baseball team completed the series sweep over The University of Olivet on Sunday afternoon with a dominant 14-2 victory in seven innings, enforcing the 10-run rule. The No. 20-ranked Bulldogs improved their strong conference run with another commanding offensive performance.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Adrian wasted no time, jumping out to a 7-0 lead in the first inning. Two runs scored on an Olivet error before Casey Finn cleared the bases with a three-RBI double down the left field line. Rolando Jimenez followed with a two-run home run to cap the inning.
- The Bulldogs added three more runs in the second inning. Gabe Jones delivered an RBI single, Finn drove in two more with a double, and another Olivet error helped extend the lead to 10-0.
- Adrian struck again in the fourth inning when Jack Boike brought home a run with an RBI single, pushing the advantage to 12-0.
- Olivet got on the board in the fifth inning with a run on a fielder's choice with the bases loaded, but Adrian quickly answered with an RBI single from Finn and another run scored on a wild pitch to make it 14-1.
- The Comets added one final run in the seventh inning on a solo home run, but the Bulldogs closed out the 14-2 win.
- Adrian finished with 11 hits, led by three from Finn and two from Jaxon McGuigan.
- Finn had a standout day at the plate, driving in five runs.
- Parker Faris earned his sixth win of the season after tossing five innings, allowing one run on two hits while striking out five.
