ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College baseball team claimed another MIAA Regular Season Championship on Friday with a doubleheader sweep over Hope College. The Bulldogs blew out the Flying Dutchmen 11-1 and 14-1 on Friday to move to 16-4 in the MIAA and win the Regular Season Championship. The Bulldogs will hold the No. 1 seed for the MIAA Tournament and serve as host.
HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 1
- Adrian took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a 2-RBI single from Christian Oliver.
- In the second inning, Nic Bruder and Gabe Jones had RBI groundouts while Jaxon McGuigan doubled in a run to lead 5-0.
- Hope scored its lone run of the game in the third inning on an RBI single.
- In the bottom of the third, Brendan Willadsen answered back with a 2-RBI triple followed by another RBI groundout from Bruder.
- In the sixth, Casey Finn drove in a pair of runs on a double followed by an RBI single from Rolando Jimenez to lead 11-1 and win in seven innings.
- The Bulldogs finished the game with 11 hits including three from McGuigan.
- Parker Faris earned his seventh win of the season on the mound tossing five innings allowing one run on seven hits with five strikeouts. Edward Bieniasz pitched two scoreless innings in relief.
HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 2
- McGuigan gave the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a 2-run homer to right center.
- In the second, the Bulldogs extended the lead to 8-0 after a 2-RBI single by Jack Boike, and RBI double from Willadsen, a 2-run single from Jake Burns, and an RBI single from Oliver.
- Bruder drove in a run in the third to lead 9-0 before Hope scored its lone run of the game in the fourth.
- In the bottom of the fourth, Casey Finn singled in a run to lead 10-1.
- In the fifth inning, Adrian scored two runs on an error and two on a single from Finn to pull ahead 14-1 and win in seven innings.
- Adrian finished with 14 hits in the game including three from Jimenez.
- Ambrose Horwath earned his ninth win of the season after tossing six innings allowing one run on six hits with five strikeouts.
THE BOB BRZUSTEWICZ JR VIDEO BOARD
Adrian College baseball dedicated its new video board prior to Friday doubleheader in memory of Bob Brzustewicz Jr who is an Adrian College baseball alum. Adrian College invited the Brzustewicz family to Nicolay Field along with friends and teammates for a dedication ceremony before the game.

The Bulldogs have won their 17
th MIAA Regular Season Championship. Adrian will conclude the MIAA regular season tomorrow afternoon on the road at Hope College at 1:00 PM. The Bulldogs will host the MIAA Tournament scheduled for May 6-8 at Nicolay Field.
