Men's Lacrosse Earns First Conference Win in Dominate Fashion over Alma

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College men's lacrosse team turned in a dominant performance Wednesday evening, cruising past Alma, 19-1, at Docking Stadium to earn their first conference win of the season.

The Bulldogs controlled the game from the opening faceoff, scoring six first-quarter goals to take an early commanding lead. Trace Tidswell opened the scoring, followed by tallies from David Harrison and Braeden McNamara to quickly build momentum. Adrian continued to pour it on with goals from Alec Winegar and Tyler Ristau, taking a 6-0 advantage after one.

Adrian kept its foot on the gas in the second quarter, adding four more goals, including a hat trick stretch from Austin Selvage, to carry a 10-0 lead into halftime.

The Bulldogs' offense showed no signs of slowing in the third, netting six more goals to extend the margin to 16-0. Selvage continued to lead the charge, while Ristau, McNamara, and Winegar all contributed to the scoring surge.

Alma broke up the shutout midway through the fourth quarter, but Adrian responded with three more goals down the stretch, including a late tally from Jack Thornton, to seal the 19-1 victory.

Selvage led all scorers with five goals and two assists, while Winegar added four goals and an assist. Tidswell and McNamara each recorded four-point performances, and Ristau contributed five points on two goals and three assists. Harrison also chipped in with three points.

Adrian dominated statistically, outshooting Alma 59-17 and holding a 38-23 advantage in ground balls. The Bulldogs were perfect in clears (15-for-15) and held Alma scoreless for over three quarters.
