HOLLAND, Mich. – The Adrian College baseball team wrapped up the MIAA regular season on Saturday afternoon as they traveled to Hope College. The Bulldogs dropped the final game of the series 13-8 after a late comeback, and finish 16-5 in MIAA play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hope jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning with the help of a 3-run homer.
- In the third, Hope extended the lead to 5-0 before pulling ahead 13-0 after an eight-run fourth.
- Adrian got on the board in the sixth inning on a solo home run from Nic Bruder.
- The Bulldogs made it 13-4 in the seventh inning on a 2-RBI single from Brendan Willadsen and an RBI fielder's choice by Bruder.
- In the eighth inning, Adrian continued to chip away with a bases loaded walk to Casey Finn, a sacrifice fly by Rolando Jimenez, an RBI single by Jack Boike, and a bases loaded walk to Gabe Jones to make it 13-8.
- Unfortunately, the Bulldogs went down 1-2-3 in the night and were unable to finish the comeback.
- Adrian finished the game with just six hits led by two from Willadsen and Boike.

The Bulldogs will compete in a final regular season game on Monday, May 4 as they travel to Ohio Northern University for a 4:00 PM game. Adrian will then serve as host of the MIAA Tournament on May 6-8 at Nicolay Field after securing the No. 1 seed. An official bracket with game information will be released in the coming days.
