ADRIAN, Mich. – The final Learfield Directors' Cup standings were released last week, ranking NCAA Division III athletic departments based on their success in NCAA postseason competition throughout the academic year. Institutions earn points through qualifying and advancing in NCAA Championships across all sponsored sports. Adrian College Athletics finished the 2025-26 academic year ranked 100th nationally with 206.5 total points.
According to NCAA.org, NCAA Division III consisted of 429 institutions during the 2025-26 academic year. Of those institutions, 316 scored points in the Learfield Directors' Cup standings. Adrian's 100th-place finish places the Bulldogs among the top 25 percent of all Division III institutions and in the top 32 percent of schools that earned Directors' Cup points.
Following the winter season, Adrian ranked 103rd in the standings. The Bulldogs received 25 points from the women's hockey team, which finished tied for ninth nationally after qualifying for the NCAA Tournament. Men's wrestling contributed 39 points after placing 35th at the NCAA Division III Men's Wrestling Championships, highlighted by Aiden Smith earning All-American honors with an eighth-place finish in his weight class. Women's wrestling added 58.5 points with a 16th-place finish at the NCAA Women's Wrestling Championships, led by All-Americans Mia Gaetjens and Carleigh Czerneski.
During the spring season, women's track and field added five points as Alysia Townsend earned All-American honors with an eighth-place finish in the long jump at the NCAA DIII Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Adrian's largest point contribution came from baseball, which added 83 points after finishing third nationally following the program's historic run to the NCAA Division III College World Series.
Among Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) institutions, Adrian ranked fourth in the final standings. The MIAA also ranked 10th among the nation's 42 NCAA Division III conferences in total points scored.
