ADRIAN, Mich. – Adrian College Assistant Athletic Director and head men's wrestling coach Bill Schindel has announced the hiring of Derrik Marry as the program's assistant coach. Marry joins the Bulldogs following the departure of Zach Altman, who accepted the head coaching position at St. John Fisher University in New York.

A native of Hudson, Michigan, Marry is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University and brings nearly a decade of coaching experience to Adrian College.

Marry began his coaching career in December 2017 as an assistant coach with the Hudson Wrestling Program, where he spent four seasons working with youth, middle school, and high school wrestlers. During his tenure, he helped coach numerous state and national champions.

In May 2021, Marry was named the head coach of the Siena Heights University men's wrestling program, leading the Saints for three seasons. Tasked with rebuilding the program after it was reinstated following a 30-year hiatus, Marry oversaw all aspects of the program, including recruiting, retention, fundraising, community outreach, and student-athlete development.

Under his leadership, Siena Heights grew from just four wrestlers to a roster of more than 30 student-athletes. The program also produced its first conference champion and national qualifier in more than three decades.

Following his time at Siena Heights, Marry served as the Executive Director of Dexter Wrestling United, where he managed fundraising efforts for the organization's 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

Marry will begin his duties at Adrian College immediately as the Bulldogs prepare for the 2026-27 season.
