ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College football team continues to receive votes in the D3football.com Top 25 and American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) national polls following its 17-10 victory over Ohio Northern in the opening week of the 2026 season.
The Bulldogs recorded 257 yards of total offense in the season opener, including 158 yards through the air. Quarterback Jake Wright connected with Braiden Whitaker for a touchdown in the fourth quarter to give Adrian the lead. In the first half, David Galligan converted a field goal to give the Bulldogs an early 3-0 advantage.
Adrian's defense led the way, forcing five interceptions throughout the game. Luke Stento recorded three interceptions, while Michael Brown picked off two passes and returned one for a touchdown to help secure the victory. Brown was subsequently named the MIAA Defensive Player of the Week.
The Bulldogs are the only MIAA team receiving votes in the Week 1 poll while Hope College ranks No. 18.
The Bulldogs will look to improve to 2-0 on the season when they travel to take on Thiel College on Saturday, September 12, at 1 p.m. Adrian defeated Thiel 76-0 in last season's matchup at home.
