Biography

Entering the Season: Gives the Bulldogs depth on the front line...shoots left...program's active career goal scorer with 52 in 85 appearances...postseason awards candidate...

2017-18 (Junior Year): 

  • Second on the squad with 17 goals, including four game-winners and four more on the power play, among 28 points.
  • Tied for the team lead with 96 shots on goal and tied for fifth in point-scoring.
  • Also had a plus-17 rating.
  • Recorded four multi-goal games including a hat trick in a 7-4 victory Aurora (Feb. 3) to finish with four points.
  • Compiled four points--two goals and two assists--and 12 shots in four postseason games.

2016-17 (Sophomore Year): 

  • Posted career highs of 19 goals, 17 assists and 36 total points in 29 games played.
  • Earned a second-team spot for CCM Division II/III All-America by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA).
  • Other accolades include All-Northern Collegiate Hockey Association and Academic All-NCHA.
  • Was a plus-14.
  • Registered career highs with seven power-play tallies and 113 shots on goal--the latter leading the team by 31.
  • Credited with game-winning goals versus Concordia-Wisconsin (6-3 on Nov. 12) and at Wisconsin-Stevens Point (6-3 on March 18).
  • Had two goals among three points to lead the Bulldogs past defending national champion UW-Stevens Point on the road in the NCAA Quarterfinals.
  • Notched a career-best four points on two goals and two assists at Finlandia on Dec. 2, a 10-1 win.
  • Began the season on a nine-game point-scoring streak (8+10=18).
  • Selected the Nov. 8 NCHA Offensive Player of the Week after totaling six points (2g, 4a), 13 shots and a plus-4 rating in two-game sweep at NCHA foe Northland College, 6-2 and 5-3.

2015-16 (Freshman Year): 

  • Racked up 16 goals--tied for first on the squad--and 13 assists for 29 total points in 28 contests.
  • Also had 11+12=23 scoring totals in 19 NCHA games only.
  • Compiled a +24 plus/minus rating.
  • Led Adrian freshmen with 89 shots on goal, which was fourth overall.
  • First career point was a goal during a 5-3 victory at Milwaukee Engineering on Halloween.
  • Recorded at least one point in eight consecutive games, going 7+4=11 over that stretch from Oct. 31 to Dec. 5.
  • Three times registered three points in a game, including a personal-best three assists on Jan. 9 at Aurora.

Before Adrian College: 

  • Played for the Austin Bruins of the North American Junior Hockey League.
  • NAHL Showcase four-time winner and leading scorer for the Bruins.
  • Graduated in 2013 from Mona Shores High School, which is located in Norton Shores near Muskegon, Mich.

The Biggest Influence during my time as an Athlete and Why?: "My father and brother. Because I have always looked up to them and wanted to be better than them."

  • Born in Muskegon, Mich., on Dec. 19, 1994 to parents Bob and Mary Boyd; both parents attended Northern Michigan University.
  • Brother, Chris, played club hockey at Michigan State University.
