Coach Fitzpatrick enters his second season as the Adrian College Head Men’s Volleyball Coach in 2021.
In his first season at Adrian, Fitzpatrick led the Bulldogs to their best start since becoming an NCAA team with a 7-2 record. Prior to the season shutdown due to COVID-19, the Bulldogs were in first place with a perfect 3-0 record in MCVL play. Fitzpatrick’s Bulldogs lead the conference in kills/set (13.67), hitting percentage (.262), assists/set (13.00), and points/set (16.6). The Bulldogs were also among national leaders as they ranked third in the country with 12.28 digs/set. For their efforts on the court the Bulldogs garnered MCVL Conference Player of the Week three times, and a program first AVCA National Player of the Week in Noah Marcinkowski. Fitzpatrick also coached four MCVL All-Conference players, another program best. Joseph Campana and Tedrick Gula were named to the Second Team, while Kevin Curley and Noah Marcinkowski were named MCVL First-Team All-Conference. The Bulldogs also garnered two major awards as Marcinkowski was named MCVL Offensive Player of the Year, and Fitzpatrick was named MCVL Coach of the Year, both program firsts.
Prior to Adrian, Fitzpatrick started his coaching career at Western New England University where he was the graduate assistant. He also served as the men’s first assistant at Nichols College. Fitzpatrick assisted with launching the men’s program at Nichols in 2019. The Bison won 17 matches and advanced to the New England Collegiate Conference semifinals in their first season of varsity competition. Fitzpatrick assisted in the development of NECC Rookie of Year and First Team All-Conference Lance Law, and Second Team All-Conference Ray Wang.
Fitzpatrick was a four-year starter at The Sage Colleges (2015-18) as a Setter and Libero. He graduated No.1 in career digs, t-No.1 in matches played, and No. 2 in career assists. Fitzpatrick was a two-time Skyline All-Conference selection in 2015, and 2017. He earned his Bachelors in Business Administration in May 2018.
Fitzpatrick currently serves on the AVCA National Ranking and West All Region/All American Committees.
