Amanda Asher enters her third year as head coach for the Adrian College women's lacrosse program in 2025-26.
In 2025, the Bulldogs finished 12-6 overall and in the top half of the MIAA standings. That finish resulted in the Bulldogs hosting and winning a first round MIAA tournament game, the program's first MIAA tournament victory since 2014.
Asher coached two MIAA 2nd team all conference selections in 2025 (Madeline Turcotte and Mey Sun) and nine separate Bulldogs secured MIAA player of the week honors, helping the team exceed projections in the MIAA preseason poll.
In her prior collegiate coaching stop at Concordia University Ann Arbor ("CUAA"), Asher oversaw a similar ascent up the conference standings. When hired for the program's inaugural 2017 season, CUAA was facing an uphill battle as a new program against many long established programs in the WHAC. However, within two years, CUAA was in the top half of the conference and consistently ranked in the top 10 nationally in the NAIA. In 2021, Asher's CUAA team won the outright regular season WHAC conference championship with an undefeated conference record. Following the 2021 season, two of Asher's players (Madalyn Fields and Jennifer Miller) were awarded NAIA All American honors and seven received all conference honors.
After the 2021 championship season, Asher took a brief step back from coaching while welcoming her second child, before returning to the collegiate ranks with Adrian for the 2024 season.
Prior to her time coaching at the collegiate level, Asher was the head coach for the Northville High School Varsity Girls Lacrosse team. During her two seasons at Northville, she compiled a 31-5 record and led her team to the first Kensington Conference championship in school history in 2016.
Asher has also coached club lacrosse with the Michigan Wave Lacrosse club, which she founded in 2016, and with True Lacrosse.Asher attended Adrian College in the spring and fall of 2008 where she played lacrosse on the first NCAA lacrosse team in the State of Michigan. She then attended Central Michigan University and played three seasons of lacrosse for the Women’s Collegiate Lacrosse League. Asher was the captain of her junior and senior seasons. Her senior year in 2011, Asher was awarded 1st Team All-League for her Defense in the Women’s Collegiate Lacrosse League. She graduated with a degree in Recreation, Parks, and Leisure Services Administration with a concentration in Commercial Recreation and Facility Management.
Asher's husband, Brett, is an Adrian College alum and the couple have two young daughters, who they hope will be future Bulldogs.
