The Adrian College women's volleyball team had a sour taste in their mouth after an earlier season loss at home to Trine. They got their revenge and moved above .500 (11-10) with a 3-0 sweep at Trine on Wednesday night. The volleyball team has now won five of their last six matches and improved to 7-6 in the MIAA.
Natalie Niblock registered 25 assists in the three sets and also had five digs and two service aces. On the night, Adrian was very good behind the service line with eight aces and just one service error. Holly Pellegrin had a .222 hitting percentage with six kills, two errors and 18 attacks. She also had six digs and four total blocks.
Jenny Carlson led Adrian with seven kills and hit .217 on 23 attacks with two errors. All three defensive specialists were in double figures in digs for the Bulldogs. Samantha Mercy and Laura Scherer each had 14 digs while Stephanie Asmus added 10 digs. Mary Rinke added five kills and three digs. Adrian hit .120 for the match while Trine hit .142 on 120 attacks. Sallie Richardson led all players with 15 kills but hit just .170 after playing very well at Adrian.
